Code of Ethics, Terms & Policies

By booking or receiving a tarot or oracle reading from Ryn / Ryn’s Hearth, you (“The Querent”) agree to the following terms:

1. Personal Responsibility & Disclaimer

You must be 18 years of age or older to receive a reading.

Readings are offered as tools for insight, reflection, and empowerment. They are not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or mental health advice. If your concern falls into one of these areas, please consult a qualified professional.

Your choices are your own. Any actions or decisions you make based on this reading are entirely your responsibility. Ryn / Ryn’s Hearth is not liable for any outcomes, interpretations, or consequences that arise after the reading.

2. The Nature of My Readings

I approach tarot and oracle as tools for intuitive guidance, self-discovery, and spiritual support. I never offer fixed predictions. While some outcomes may be discussed, free will and shifting circumstances always play a role.

I may gently reframe your question to keep the focus on you and your personal growth. If a question cannot be aligned with my ethical framework, I may offer a refund or suggest a more suitable direction for your reading.

3. What I Do & Do Not Read On

I do not provide readings that include:

• Medical, health, pregnancy, or fertility questions

• Legal advice or financial/investment predictions

• Third-party inquiries (i.e., reading someone else's thoughts or actions)

• Requests involving baneful magic, energy manipulation, or curses

• Demands for definitive predictions or guaranteed outcomes

I also may decline readings if:

• You show signs of over-reliance on divination for decision-making

• You repeatedly ask the same question within a short time

• I feel the question cannot be addressed with clarity or integrity through the cards

4. Inclusivity, Safety & Consent

My readings are trauma-informed and LGBTQIA+ affirming, and I offer them in a spirit of non-judgment. I hold space for people of all backgrounds, identities, and spiritual paths.

Respect is a mutual agreement. I reserve the right to end or refuse a session if abusive, manipulative, or disrespectful behavior arises.

5. Confidentiality & Use of Materials

• All readings are confidential. Your identity and personal information will never be shared.

  • Occasionally, I may share a photo of a card spread for promotional purposes. I will never disclose identifying information without your explicit permission.

6. Delivery & Communication

• For pre-recorded or written readings:

  • Delivery is via email within 7–10 business days unless otherwise stated. Please check your spam/junk folder if you don’t see it.

• Live (virtual or in-person) sessions will be scheduled in advance at a mutually agreed-upon time. Please ensure your contact information is accurate to avoid missed communications.

• I am not responsible for issues caused by mistyped emails, full inboxes, or delivery errors from third-party platforms.

7. Payment, Cancellations & Refunds

Pre-recorded or written readings:

• Full payment is due at time of booking

• Refunds are only available up to 24 hours after purchase and only if the reading has not yet been completed.

Live sessions (virtual or in-person):

• A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking

• The balance is due before the session begins

• You may cancel for a full refund (minus processing fees) up to 48 hours in advance

• No-shows/No-calls/No-texts will not be refunded or rescheduled

• If I must cancel, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule

If you need to cancel due to an emergency after the cancellation window, please reach out. I may offer a partial refund or credit toward a future session.

8. Integrity & Transparency

• I do not claim to be psychic or omniscient. I interpret the cards to the best of my ability and will always be honest if something is unclear or doesn't come through.

• You are welcome to ask questions during your session. Clarification is encouraged. Follow-up questions after a completed reading may require booking a new session.

• I am committed to doing readings that serve your highest and most authentic good. If I feel I’m not the right reader for you, I will let you know and suggest alternatives.

9. Sliding Scale Payment Policy

All personal sessions are offered on a sliding scale, pay-what-you-can basis.

• This approach is grounded in a belief that intuitive guidance and spiritual care should be accessible, while also recognizing the importance of energetic reciprocity.

• Sliding scale pricing is based on mutual trust and shared respect.

• Choosing a fair contribution ensures the work remains sustainable and honors the time, energy, and preparation that goes into each session.

$ How to Choose What to Pay

1. If you are financially secure, contributing the full amount—or more!—helps support others who may need to pay less.

2. If you're managing on a limited income, feel free to choose an amount that feels appropriate and within reach. Minimums are listed on each service.

3. If you're experiencing financial hardship, you are still welcome. Please reach out, and we’ll work together to find an option that feels good for both of us (e.g., bartering or split payments)

Paying what you can is part of the energetic exchange that makes this work meaningful and sustainable. We live under a capitalist system currently, and I still have bills to pay. Please use your discernment.

10. In Closing

By booking a reading, you acknowledge that:

• You have read and understand these terms

• You consent to receiving a tarot or oracle reading under these ethical guidelines

• You understand that readings are for reflection, not guarantees
